We are almost finished with the neighbor's house. This is the best we could achieve for now. Acquiring bricks, cement, better iron sheets, reinforcing bars, masons, steel doors, etc., would be quite costly. About 95% of houses in my community are in a similar condition. We purchased 30 iron sheets; I didn't keep track of the amount of iron nails used. A carpenter made the doors and windows, while another one set up the roof pitch, among other tasks. They properly nailed the iron sheets, and a couple of other people molded dung and soil for the walls.
I'm unable to explain the activities as I record them because I am always exhausted. However, it's all for a greater cause. I will keep you updated. There are a few things to be done on the house in the upcoming days, including a small room for their two older sons. The younger ones will sleep in the big house. Perhaps new mattresses and blankets, a gas stove for cooking, new shoes, etc.
You should see the owners, their parents, siblings, and my village! Everyone is happy, except for a few jealous people, but I suppose that's human nature.
As Schindler said, I wish I could do more!
I see you watch me eat loquats at the end and think, ‘he is a lip smacker!’ but that's just how we eat loquats😊😊 When you visit me, we will see if you don't smack your lips too! I think they'd make good wine. Most (about ¾) of them will end up rotting under the trees mother tree.
