Sustainable Farming, Community Electrification and New Projects
I have written posts on finger millet farming from time to time. You'll enjoy this video of my mum harvesting her finger millet. It performed awfully because of a fungal disease. Well, we don't spray our finger millet. She harvested it all by herself in less than 8 hours. If it performed well, it would have required her and 5 or 6 others working from 8 am to 4 in the evening to harvest every finger millet in that tiny farm.
Afterwards my brother and I had to hoe the farm for maize planting. We will be planting next week.
Fossil Fuels for Africa is connecting more families to the grid every month. We did 6 this month and you can find all of that here. We look forward to providing clean water, clean cooking through access to LPG and clean clothing in my community and someday throughout Kisii. I am planning to register the unstoppable Fossil Fuels for Africa! I am so excited!
We have a Bitcoin community project coming up which is all about creating a Self-reliant community. Fossil Fuels for Africa will be funding Bitcoin Chama on its first project! We will have a community gym which serves our community by advocating for more protein intake within our community, correct BMI through workout and dieting (people can pay in bitcoin) and then probably boost schools nearby have more access to various protein sources. Bitcoin Chama will also construct chicken coops and beehives for farmers in our community to help supplement their income. We would want to alias with a veterinarian to help with improving the cattle breeds in our community instead of the typical inbreeding happening around. More milk and eggs for people in our community is good for their health and it will for sure also improve their income generation. Thanks for the update. This shows why subsistence farming is so precarious. We keep a close eye on our crops for various pests & diseases, then spray appropriately. What would happen to your Mom if there was a total crop failure?
